To ensure that those who are required to manage safely and effectively in compliance with both their organisation's policy and best practice. |

| Objectives: |
On the successful completion of Managing Safely, delegates will be able to: |
- understand the role of risk assessment in a health and safety management system
- outline the main requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- outline the techniques required for accident investigation and the human behaviours involved
- identify workplace hazards and the hierarchies of controls
- prepare active monitoring checklists and use them in carrying out monitoring and reviews in the workplace
- explain the purpose of a health and safety audit.

The course is arranged into 7 modules and provides an understanding of the knowledge and skills required to contribute to an effective health |

- health and safety legislation
- hazards in the workplace
- reviewing and audit.

| Assessment of the Course: |
There is a multi-choice assessment paper and a project. Successful delegates will be awarded an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certificate. |
